Undercover Operation Uncovers Misconduct

The operation resulted in the apprehension of key suspects who were observed engaging in inappropriate behavior towards female staff members.

During the undercover operation, the officers attended a meeting where they witnessed the accused in action, mistreating women employees. The police have since begun reviewing over 40 CCTV footage clips to gather further evidence against the perpetrators.

The sexual harassment allegations span the last four years, involving nine registered cases against six individuals, which include a team leader and a human resources representative. The victims are reported to be primarily women aged between 18 and 25 years.

According to the accusations in the filed FIRs, the misconduct ranges from sexual harassment and unwelcome physical advances made on false pretenses to attempts at religious conversion and insults related to religious practices. In one significant case, spanning from July 2022 to February 2026, the accused—Danish Sheikh, Tausif Attar, and Nida Khan—were reported to have made disparaging comments about Hindu deities and established physical relations under the false promise of marriage with a female employee. In another case involving Raza Memon and Shahrukh Qureshi from May 2023 to March 2026, the accused allegedly harassed a female employee by making inappropriate comments regarding her personal life. Despite formal complaints being lodged, the company’s head officer reportedly failed to take any action and is said to have encouraged the accused instead.

Subsequent incidents included lewd comments, inappropriate touching, and derogatory remarks regarding the victim’s marital status, illustrating a pattern of systemic misconduct within the workplace. Various cases involve individuals making obscene gestures, derogatory remarks about religious sentiments, and coercing victims into religious practices against their will.

Five suspects were arrested on Tuesday and subsequently presented in local court the following day, where they were remanded into police custody until April 10. Another defendant is currently in judicial custody, while a woman associated with the HR department was also detained for failing to adhere to regulations regarding the Prevention of Sexual Harassment.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by ACP (Crime) Sandeep Mitke, has been established to further investigate the allegations following instructions from Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik. Authorities are also considering the possibility of a broader systematic issue within the organization.

Law enforcement officials have encouraged other women who may have experienced similar harassment to come forward. Victims can reach out to the police via WhatsApp at 9923323311 for support and assistance.
