Announcement of Class 10 and Class 12 Results

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is anticipated to declare the results for the Class 10 board exams (Session 1) for 2026 shortly. This is expected to occur earlier than the announcement timeline of the previous year due to the scheduling of a second round of board examinations in May 2026. Approximately 43 lakh students, including nearly 25 lakh Class 10 candidates, are awaiting their results.

While there has been no official confirmation from the board, it is believed that the Class 10 results will be announced before the last week of April this year, benefiting from a quicker evaluation process. In contrast, the Class 12 results are expected to be released prior to the second week of May 2026, consistent with historical trends. In the prior year, results for both classes were revealed on May 13.

New Examination Policies

This academic year, CBSE has implemented a second set of board examinations allowing students the opportunity to enhance their scores in up to three subjects.

Students who fall short of passing by one or two marks in Class 10 may receive grace marks under the new policy. It is mandated that candidates must achieve a minimum of 33 percent overall to pass the examination.

Exam Schedule

The CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations began on February 17, 2026. The Class 10 examinations concluded on March 11, while the Class 12 examinations wrapped up on April 10, 2026.
