Mumbai University Admission 2026-27: Application Process Begins on May 6

Admission Schedule Released

Mumbai University has announced the admission schedule for the academic year 2026-27 for students interested in undergraduate programs at its affiliated colleges, autonomous institutions, and university departments throughout the city and surrounding areas.

The online registration window for pre-admission will open on May 6, 2026, at 11 a.m. and will close on May 21, 2026, at 1 p.m. Students must register through the university’s official admissions portal, which will be accessible at muugadmission.samarth.edu.in. Registration is a prerequisite for all students applying for first-year admission into non-professional degree courses.

This admissions process is being implemented in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and follows the Maharashtra government’s gazette notification dated April 20, 2023. This restructuring of undergraduate education includes three-year degree programs, four-year Honours and Honours with Research options, along with five-year integrated courses featuring multiple entry and exit points.

Key Dates for Mumbai University Admissions 2026

**May 6**: The registration and application process will commence, with the admissions portal going live at 11:00 a.m. In-house and minority quota admissions will also begin on this date.

**May 21**: The registration and application process will close at 1:00 p.m., marking the end of the initial application phase.

**May 26**: The first merit list will be published at 11:00 a.m., providing the initial selection of candidates for admission.

**May 27–29**: Document verification and fee payment for Round 1 will take place, with a deadline set for 3:00 p.m. on May 29.

**May 30**: The second merit list will be released at 7:00 p.m.

**June 1–3**: Document verification and fee payment will occur for Round 2, with a final deadline of 3:00 p.m. on June 3.

**June 4**: The third merit list will be published at 7:00 p.m.

**June 5–9**: Further document verification and fee payment for Round 3 will be conducted during this timeframe.

**June 13**: Classes will commence, with orientation marking the official start of the 2026-27 academic year.

Guidelines and Course Offerings

According to Dr. Pooja Roundale, Director of the Board of Examinations and Evaluation, all admissions and academic activities for first-year degree courses will be governed by the applicable provisions and guidelines issued by the Maharashtra government, Mumbai University, and the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Online registration is essential for a wide variety of programs, including traditional degrees like BA, BSc, and BCom, as well as specialized courses such as BSc Data Science, BSc Forensic Science, BSc Aeronautics, BSc Nautical Science, and BA in Film, Television and New Media Production. Other unique offerings include a Bachelor of Culinary Arts and a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Music and Dance, along with integrated five-year programs like BMS–MBA and B.Sc. Bioanalytical Science.

Dr. Roundale further indicated that admissions to the BMS program governed by AICTE will follow a different timeline and are contingent upon the results of the entrance examination conducted by the CET Cell.

All affiliated colleges and autonomous institutions are instructed to strictly adhere to the published admission schedule while considering their specific intake capacities, reservation policies, and course eligibility criteria.
