Results Announcement

The results for JEE (Main) 2026 Session 2 concerning Paper 1 (BE/BTech) are anticipated to be released by April 20. The results will be calculated based on the best performance of candidates across both sessions of JEE (Main) 2026, following the established guidelines.

Examination Details

The JEE (Main) 2026 Session 2 examinations were conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) mode on the dates of April 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. The examinations took place at approximately 566 centres spread across 304 cities within India and 14 cities abroad. Around 11.23 lakh candidates registered for the exam.

For Paper 1 (BE/BTech), around 11.06 lakh candidates registered in India, with an additional 4,229 candidates from international locations. The attendance rate for this paper was approximately 93 percent, while Aadhaar authentication was recorded at around 97 percent. Meanwhile, for Paper 2 (BArch/BPlanning), about 54,953 candidates registered in India, along with 270 from abroad, resulting in an attendance rate of roughly 73 percent, with Aadhaar authentication also nearing 97 percent.

Application Process

The online application procedure for Session 2 was conducted from February 1 to February 25, 2026. In response to requests from candidates, the NTA reopened the application window on March 12 and 13 to accommodate more applicants.

Conduct of Examinations

The NTA has stated that it ensured the smooth execution of the examinations through thorough planning and coordination with both central and state authorities. Various measures were implemented to tackle emerging challenges during this session.

Candidates who faced disruptions in certain regions of the Middle East were given assistance through rescheduling and relocation of examination centres, with support from Indian missions overseas. For example, in Riyadh, an examination originally scheduled for April 5 was disrupted due to a power failure and was subsequently conducted on April 6 and 8.

In Manipur, the examination proceeded despite local internet restrictions and disturbances, thanks to the cooperation of the state government. The NTA also coordinated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to prevent scheduling conflicts between JEE (Main) and the Class 12 board examinations, facilitating candidate-specific adjustments where necessary.
