Praise for Consistency and Impact

Krunal Pandya, the all-rounder for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), expressed admiration for Virat Kohli following the latter’s remarkable achievement of reaching 9,000 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Kohli accomplished this milestone during a match against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, marking a significant venue in his cricketing journey. He played a decisive role in chasing down a target of 76 runs, finishing the game with a crisp 23 not out off 15 balls, which included a four and two sixes at a strike rate of 153.33.

During the post-match press conference, Pandya underscored Kohli’s impressive longevity and the influence he has exerted since the IPL’s inception in 2008. “Virat Kohli has been one of the greatest who has played. The achievements he has had over the last 15-20 years have been unbelievable. To have that sort of consistency and the hunger he has is remarkable,” he stated.

Transformation of Fitness Culture

Pandya also credited Kohli for significantly altering the fitness culture within Indian cricket, emphasizing that his impact extends beyond mere performances on the pitch. “He has changed the way people see the sport from a fitness point of view. He has been the flagbearer of how the fitness culture has come in India,” he remarked.

Reflecting on Kohli’s milestone, Pandya indicated that such accomplishments are the result of years of dedicated effort. “When you achieve a milestone, you get satisfaction that the effort you have put in is paying off. Everyone who works hard wants to see that result,” he noted.

Looking to the Future

Furthermore, Pandya expressed his hope that Kohli will continue his successful run and contribute to the team’s victories. “He has achieved so much in his career. I have not asked him yet how he feels about 9,000 runs, but I hope he continues like this, wins us more matches and gives everyone happiness,” he concluded.
