The National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (CONRED), Guatemala’s disaster management authority, provided an update on the volcanic activity. They stated that the volcano continues to extrude lava in blocks and generates avalanches on the different flanks of the Caliente dome, as well as short-range pyroclastic flows.
Officials observed incandescence in the crater during the night and early morning, indicating the continued active state of this volcanic complex, which is known as one of the most active in Guatemala.

CONRED reiterated the importance of adhering to safety regulations surrounding the volcano. A restricted zone of at least 5 kilometers (approximately 5.3 miles) remains in effect around the volcanic complex, where entry, camping, or any stay is strictly prohibited.
