Bihar Man Arrested For Threatening PM Modi’s Security: Police

Incident Overview

A man has been arrested in Buxar district of Bihar for allegedly sending a threatening message to an intelligence agency based in the United States. The message included a claim that he could compromise the security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in exchange for monetary compensation, according to police reports released on Friday.

The suspect, identified as Amal Kumar Tiwari, hails from the Simri locality and was taken into custody on Thursday night. Authorities reported that a laptop, mobile phones, and other digital items were confiscated from his residence during the arrest.

Police Findings

Buxar Police disclosed that they received information indicating Tiwari posted a message on the official website of the U.S.-based intelligence agency, where he made demands for money linked to compromising the Prime Minister’s security.

Upon examination of his mobile device, officers discovered multiple virtual private networks (VPNs) and applications designed to access the dark web. A VPN is recognized as a tool that creates an encrypted connection over public networks to enhance privacy, while the dark web refers to areas of the internet not indexed by standard search engines and requiring specialized software to navigate.

The police also reported discovering fake identity documents at Tiwari’s residence, which are believed to have been utilized in cybercrime activities. This discovery raises further concerns regarding his potential involvement in illicit online behavior.

Confession and Previous Offense

Durng police interrogation, Tiwari admitted to his involvement in the case. Officials revealed that he had a previous record of threatening to hack into the website of Kolkata airport. This history of threats adds to the seriousness of the current allegations against him.

As of now, Tiwari continues to be interrogated by local police in conjunction with central investigative agencies to uncover more details surrounding his actions and any potential connections to broader security threats.
