Akashdeep Saigal Responds to Trolling Over Age Gap in Kyunki Reboot

Actor Takes on New Role in Iconic Series

Saigal’s Perspective on His Return to the Show

In an interview with Mid-Day, Saigal reflected on his return to the show, viewing it as more than just a career move. He expressed a sense of tranquility about the opportunity, stating that he saw it as a calling rather than an offer. “When you truly believe in your path, you recognize destiny when it knocks,” he remarked. He emphasized the show’s significance, noting that no individual actor surpasses the essence of the show itself.

Saigal contrasted his new character, Reyansh, with his former role, Ansh. He described Ansh as impulsive and chaotic, while Reyansh represents an evolution of character with a calm demeanor and a sharp intellect. “You can’t manufacture impact; truth is absolute,” he added, highlighting that genuine performance resonates with audiences.

Actor Responds to Online Criticism

Saigal addressed the criticism surrounding his casting, explaining that online trolling stems from the insecurities of some individuals. He emphasized that trolling is merely “noise” that does not hold lasting power. “Think about it: we can’t even control the hair growing on our own heads; so why try to fight destiny or a universal calling?” he stated, dismissing the negativity associated with online comments.

Saigal also expressed confidence in the producer, Ekta Kapoor, and her vision for the show. He articulated that if he and Kapoor fixated on critics instead of focusing on the show’s supporters, significant storytelling might never unfold. “Ekta is a visionary; she knows exactly what she is doing,” he stated, reaffirming his faith in the creative leadership behind the reboot.

Reunion with Smriti Irani and Co-Stars

He referred to their collaboration as ‘two masters returning to the ring,’ highlighting the professional synergy they share. “When we’re in a frame together, the energy is undeniable,” he noted, pointing to their experienced dynamic when acting together.

Moreover, he shared his thoughts on reuniting with other co-stars, including Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, and Amar Upadhyay, in a conversation with Zoom. Saigal described this reconnection as a moment of “mutual respect,” underscoring that each member of the ensemble has grown during their time apart, and they bring a legacy of shared experiences to this second chapter of their collective journey.
