Stasya Pandya: A Rising Star in Indian Equestrian Sports
Early Achievements
At just 14 years old, Stasya Pandya is making significant strides in the world of equestrian sports in India. She has garnered attention for her medal wins at major national competitions, including a silver medal in the Under 14 category at the 2025 Junior National Equestrian Championship held in Bengaluru. More recently, at the Delhi Horse Show 2026, she showcased her versatility by winning two medals across different equestrian disciplines.
During the Delhi Horse Show, Stasya secured a Team Silver in Dressage riding her horse, Consul, as well as a Team Bronze in Show Jumping, where she adeptly navigated a challenging 1.10-meter course with 12 jumps on her horse, Cougar De Fees. Her achievements at such a young age in varied disciplines are a notable highlight in Indian equestrian sports.
Distinct Disciplines
Dressage and show jumping involve distinct skills and approaches. Dressage focuses on precision, rhythm, and harmony between the rider and horse, while show jumping emphasizes speed, control, and accuracy in clearing obstacles. Stasya’s ability to excel in both areas is rare, especially among junior riders. She shared her perspective, stating, “Dressage is about patience and connection with your horse, while show jumping is about courage and quick decisions.” Her commitment to both disciplines illustrates her passion and drive.
Stasya’s series of successes has also included a Team Silver in Dressage at the Junior National Equestrian Championship in 2025 in Bengaluru. Earlier in her career, she placed fourth in Team Show Jumping at the National Equestrian Championship in Meerut and won a Team Bronze in Show Jumping at the Junior National Equestrian Championship in Delhi in 2024.
International Exposure and Recognition
A major milestone in her career was her participation in the FEI Children’s Classic 2025 in Bengaluru, where she not only qualified for the Team India selection trials in the Under 14 category but also ranked No. 1 in the national Silver Category for Show Jumping. Finishing 12th overall in this competition presented her with global exposure, reinforcing her belief in her capabilities within the sport. “Competing with riders from across the world and finishing 12th globally showed me I belong there,” Stasya remarked.
Stasya’s talent has been recognized at the regional level as well. She was honored as the Best Rider in the Children Category at the Annual Equestrian Games 2025 held in Pune and also at the Mumbai Horse Show 2025. Furthermore, she achieved third place at the Dream Alliance Cup 2025 and the Surge Equestrian League 2025, and she finished fourth overall at the Equestrian Premiere League 2025 in Bengaluru.
A Bright Future Ahead
As the infrastructure for equestrian sports in India continues to develop and as international events like the FEI Children’s Classic gain momentum within the country, young athletes like Stasya Pandya are poised to elevate Indian equestrian sports on the world stage. Stasya exemplifies a new generation of athletes—dynamic, skilled, and ready to contribute to the growing popularity of equestrianism in India.
