PM Modi Highlights Growing Support for BJP in West Bengal

Feedback from Party Workers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi indicated that interactions with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers in West Bengal suggest increasing public backing for the party ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. Following a visit to Siliguri, he shared insights on social media platform X, sharing his enthusiasm about engaging with dedicated BJP activists. He remarked, “It is always a delight to interact with hardworking BJP Karyakartas. Their efforts at the grassroots are truly inspiring.”

During his visit, PM Modi met local BJP Karyakartas who relayed the struggles faced by ordinary citizens under the rule of the Trinamool Congress (TMC). According to Modi, these discussions revealed that the people are beginning to connect with the BJP’s developmental agenda, reinforcing his belief that the prevailing sentiment in West Bengal is turning in favor of the BJP.

Criticism of the TMC

In a rally held in Siliguri, PM Modi directed strong criticisms at the ruling TMC, accusing the party of corruption and neglecting the interests of North Bengal. He asserted that the BJP would emerge victorious in the forthcoming state elections, emphasizing the significance of the electoral process in determining the future of West Bengal.

Modi highlighted the perceived failings of the TMC government, stating, “The ruthless TMC government has completed 15 years in power… you have witnessed nothing but ruin.” He reiterated that this election is crucial for the state and for its residents to gain the governmental support they deserve.

Allegations Against TMC Governance

Further escalating his critique, PM Modi characterized the ruling party as “anti-North Bengal,” “anti-tribal,” and dismissive of the needs of women and youth. He claimed that the TMC has not achieved meaningful development and lacks a credible track record for its time in power.

The Prime Minister accused the state government of discriminatory allocation of the budget, asserting that development projects in North Bengal have been systematically overlooked while resources have been redirected to other regions. Modi accused the TMC of engaging in appeasement politics, failing to prioritize the needs and aspirations of the people in North Bengal.
