Upcoming Smartphone Lineup

Xiaomi is reportedly set to broaden its smartphone offerings with new sub-flagship models following the earlier release of the flagship Xiaomi 17 series in India and globally. The anticipated lineup is expected to include two devices—Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro. While the company has not formally announced these smartphones, the base model has recently appeared on a benchmarking platform, revealing information about its chipset, RAM, and software details.

Xiaomi 17T Geekbench Listing

A Xiaomi device identified by the model number 2602DPT53G has been detected on the Geekbench AI database, as per information shared by tipster Abhishek Yadav. This model number aligns with earlier certification listings for the Xiaomi 17T.

The global variant of the Xiaomi 17 (2602DPT53G) is set to be equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 chipset. This chipset is characterized by a prime core with a frequency of 3.40GHz, alongside three performance cores clocked at 3.20GHz and four efficiency cores operating at 2.20GHz. The graphics capability of the Xiaomi 17T is supported by a Mali-G720 MC8 GPU.

The comparison of specifications against existing chipsets indicates that the Xiaomi 17T is indeed powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 SoC, which is also used in other smartphones such as the Oppo K15 Pro, iQOO Z11 5G, and Motorola Edge 70 Pro, suggesting its positioning as a performance-driven sub-flagship smartphone.

RAM and Software Specifications

The benchmark listing highlights that the device possesses approximately 11.09GB of RAM, which may be marketed as 12GB. The Xiaomi 17T is indicated to operate on Android 16, likely featuring Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 skin on top. The relevant benchmarks show the handset achieving scores of 777 and 858 points in Geekbench AI 1.7.0 for Android AArch64 (CPU) single precision and half precision tests, respectively.

The test results provide insights into the smartphone’s AI computational strength, with the former score signifying its capability in AI tasks while the latter suggests proficiency in managing multiple AI workloads. Additionally, the device recorded 1,160 points in the quantised test that assesses overall AI processing effectiveness.

Certification and Launch Expectations

The Xiaomi 17T series has reportedly been listed on several certification platforms, including the IMDA and NBTC databases, hinting that its launch may be forthcoming. Sources claim that both the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro are under development, with expectations that the Pro variant will showcase enhanced specifications compared to the standard model.

Leakage from earlier reports has pointed to a potential launch timeline for the Xiaomi 17T series in India, indicating a debut towards the end of April or early May. This suggests that consumers and fans of the brand can anticipate further details in the near future as the launch date approaches.
