Thalaivar 173: Rajinikanth Starrer May See Change in Direction
Potential Director Replacement
Thalaivar 173, featuring veteran actor Rajinikanth, was initially set to be directed by Sundar C. However, the project later saw a leadership change when Cibi Chakaravarthi was brought on board as the director.
Currently, Rajinikanth is engaged in the production of his upcoming film, Jailer 2, while preparations for Thalaivar 173 are anticipated to commence shortly. Reports indicate that there may be another shift in the film’s directorial team.
Dispute Involving Cibi Chakaravarthi
According to sources from Valai Pechu, Cibi Chakaravarthi may soon be replaced as the director of Thalaivar 173. The filmmaker has reportedly found himself in a dispute with a Telugu production house over a separate project, which involved actor Nani. Chakaravarthi has chosen to step away from this project due to creative differences.
The production house, however, contends that significant investment has already been made in pre-production for the unnamed project, and they are seeking reimbursement from Chakaravarthi. It has been reported that the production team even proposed a partnership in Thalaivar 173, but this offer was declined by the producers, RKFI.
Possible New Director
With the ongoing dispute reportedly unresolved, the makers of Thalaivar 173 are considering replacing Cibi Chakaravarthi with Ashwath Marimuthu, the director known for the film Dragon. Marimuthu previously disclosed that he had narrated a story to Rajinikanth that the actor found appealing.
Despite the bubbling speculation about the changes in direction, there has been no official confirmation from the filmmakers regarding these developments. Fans and followers of Rajinikanth await further updates on the film’s production status and potential directorial shifts.
