Announcement of CBSE Class 10 and 12 Results 2026 Imminent
Preparation for Result Declaration
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to announce the Class 10 board results for 2026 soon, with sources indicating that the declaration may occur at short notice. The early release is attributed to the scheduling of a second phase of board exams slated for May 2026. Approximately 43 lakh students are waiting for their results, including nearly 25 lakh candidates for Class 10.
While there has been no official confirmation from the board regarding the exact date and time of the results, speaking to NDTV officials indicated that all necessary preparations have been completed. This suggests that results could be made public as early as today or tomorrow.
Indications for Result Release
Additional signals of an upcoming announcement have surfaced through the DigiLocker and UMANG applications. These platforms have advised students to set up their accounts in advance rather than waiting for the actual result day, pointing toward a likely prompt release of the results.
Class 12 results are anticipated to be issued in the second week of May 2026. In the previous year, both Class 10 and Class 12 results were declared on May 13. However, given the impending second session of Class 10 exams starting on May 15, the Class 10 results are expected to be revealed prior to the Class 12 results.
Evaluation and Assessment Process
The evaluation process entails examiners assessing 20 answer sheets per day for major subjects and 25 for other subjects, while working an eight-hour shift. The incorporation of On-Screen Marking is expected to expedite the assessment process, allowing completion within nine days, as opposed to the 12 days previously required for Class 12 evaluations.
This year, the CBSE has also introduced a second board examination system, enabling students to enhance their scores in up to three subjects. This measure aims to provide students with additional opportunities for academic improvement.
Grace Marks Policy and Exam Timeline
According to the grace marks policy, students who fall short by one or two marks in Class 10 may be eligible for grace marks. To pass the examination, candidates are required to achieve a minimum overall score of 33 percent.
The CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations commenced on February 17, 2026. The Class 10 exams concluded on March 11, while the Class 12 examinations were completed on April 10, 2026.
