Two Tankers Carrying Iranian Crude Arrive at Indian Ports
Delivery Details
Two tankers transporting Iranian crude oil have successfully arrived at Indian ports, representing the first deliveries of this nature since May 2019.
According to ship-tracking information from Kpler, the tanker Felicity, classified as a very large crude carrier, anchored off the coast of Sikka in Gujarat late on Sunday, carrying approximately two million barrels of oil. Simultaneously, another tanker named Jaya, also laden with a similar volume of crude, anchored near Paradip off the coast of Odisha.
Loading Information
Both tankers were reported to have been loaded at Kharg Island, the largest seaport in Iran, which is responsible for managing nearly 90% of the country’s oil exports.
The Felicity lifted its cargo in mid-March, while the Jaya was loaded in late February, prior to the escalation of military tensions between the United States and Israel and Iran.
Government Awareness
The Ministry of Shipping stated that it was not aware of the arrival of the two vessels carrying Iranian crude oil.
